I grew up here thinking Toronto was a progressive city. Very safe, very clean and the transit system was highly regarded. New York run by the Swiss as it was famously described in the sixties. We had Yorkville when it was actually cool and not just an homage to conspicuous consumption.

A River Runs Through It
The Chicago River runs right through the city's downtown and creates an interesting architectural feature. Chicago's elevated transit system dubbed the 'L' runs through over 100 miles throughout the city. It is one of the city's distinguishing features.
